This isn't for the ODT but rather for the option that allows users to download O365 on their own. There is a setting under the Office software download settings which say Office (includes Skype for Business) but no option for Teams. We don't use SfB in our environment and this personal installer includes SfB but not Teams.8 votes
Disable automatic installation of Teams - It should be an opt-in service, rather than being forced upon users.24 votes
I updated something in an old Word file and saved it by Ctrl+S, then the file disappeared from its original position...... And it has gone from my PC right now......OMG!5 votes
I can't believe we've actually gone backwards.
Why can't I download the ISO?
Why not make the Office Deployment Tool GUI based rather than having to generate your own XML (which I know someone has done online but seriously if someone has to make a tool to create the XML required then you must know you've made a mistake).
Give the option to deploy it in a really backwards way if you want to but don't force this rubbish on us.8 votes
Office 365 installation breaks my existing Apps because it now uses a new "root" directory. All my Access Command-Lines must specify the MSAccess.exe location which no longer exists. For MSI installations it still works but not for newer installs. Well done Microsoft.
Click-to-Run: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\MSACCESS.EXE".
Before it was the older MSI install folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office16\MSACCESS.EXE".
There appears to be no way to change this installation back to the older MSI install folder. Maybe Shortcuts in the older folder to the new root folder could solve this problem.4 votes
Right now group policy can only prevent Teams from automatically starting up if its applied before Teams is installed.
Are you kidding me? I have to apply group policy to manage a program that isn't even installed on the computer? What dumbass as Microsoft thought that was a good idea?5 votes
OfficeC2RClient.exe previously supported parameters like a. change channels or update from CDN. Now this is deprecated, customers must use multiple steps to perform these tasks which previously one step. The ask is to restore support for this approach or provide similar one with PowerShell. Enterprise customers need this feature.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe /changesetting Channel=Monthly

Deploying volume licenses beside subscription licenses should not require manual configuration. Office installers are already intelligent enough to manage this, they just haven't been configured to.8 votes
