  2. Uninstall Visio and Project

I think it's important to include uninstall option for Office 365 App including Microsoft Visio and Project to Office Customization Tool, Organization may need to uninstall specific Office product due to license limitation such as Visio and Project

  3. allow Mac book to get full office 365 subscription and services.

I've just changed my note book from "pc" to MacBook Air standard.
I'm a long time Microsoft's client and happy with Microsoft (more than 40 years subscriber to office).
the Mac vendor said to me that it will be no problem to install office 365 into Mac, unfortunately it is not true and I can see that my actual microsoft office 365 (premium subscription) can not be fully deployed into Macbook air. how can I do ? stoping office 365 subscription that I like it or asking Microsoft office 365 to allow full deployment into the Mac book air ? …

  4. ODT Will Not Install Office 365 ProPlus on Windows 7 Despite Documentation

Office Deployment Tool fails to install Office 365 Pro Plus on Windows 7 computers stating "You need Windows 10 to continue". Microsoft documentation explicitly states that we can continue to deploy Office 365 Pro Plus on Windows 7 up through January 2023, only it will not update past release 2002. Either the documentation needs to be updated to correctly state you cannot install Office 365 ProPlus on WIndows 7 or the Office Deployment Tool needs to be updated to allow the installation to continue.

    Documentation source: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/windows-7-support#how-to-manage-office-365-proplus-on-windows-7-after-january-2020
"To deploy or update Version 2002 on devices running Windows 7, you can…

  6. go back to the msi

For the one or two installs that I do in a month, creating the configuration file is a waist. Plus, you must not be able to support it or I would still be able to install the software to drives other than C. For large corporations this is a nice tool, for us - not so much. Office 2019 is a total waist.

  10. Ability to add Desktop Shortcuts to the Office Configuration Tool

It would be great to be able to automate the ability to create desktop shortcuts using the Office Configuration Tool as opposed to PinIconstoTaskbar.

Is there anything in the works to allow this?

  11. Config.xml property suggestion

In different office deployment approach we have noticed many issues. One of them is interrupting office installation or upgrade by opening any office app meanwhile. Many time user doesn't show enough patience and start opening shortcuts which actually corrupt the entire installation. In our environment we give a continuous notification to user that they should not open office application. But for a better and hazard-less experience that can be a property, I can suggest a property NoInterruption which will have Boolean value and will monitor upon the office related processes like Word.exe, Excel.exe etc. And that continuous thread will run…

  14. More Verbose Banner Messaging for RemoveMSI

When using the RemoveMSI feature of ODT, the user is presented with a generic Office setup banner that says "We are getting things ready for you." Since this can take 10-15 minutes to complete the removal of previous version of Office, many users ask if the installation is hung, or what is happening.

An easy solution to this would be to offer an update to the banner that states "We are removing the previous installations of Office." to give enough information to the users so that they know something is happening that may take some time.

  15. Why have the option to turn off TEAMS in the setup for a new user on Office 365 if you are going to ignore the damn thing anyway

We don't need yet another thing popping up asking users to log in every time you start the computer. Why have the option to turn it off for a user when setting up their Office account if you're going to ignore it and force the damn thing down our throats anyways? STOP deciding for us what we want our users to have!

  16. Application Preferences in OCPS

Instead of specifying app preferences in ODT (which works on machine level), add it to the OCPS and let me assign app preferences to users and group. This would enable a true user-focused management of these. Also it would be easier to adjust preferences during rollout.

  17. XML option to automatically pin Office 365 applications on the Start Menu

We have a large enterprise need to pin Office 365 ProPlus Icons on the start menu by default after fresh installations and upgrades from Office 2016.

This option should be made available inside the product.

  19. Admins want Office Deployment Toolkit to allow users to defer Office ProPlus installs prior to required deadline

Customers want first party feature to allow end users to defer installation of Office ProPlus based on integer defined by IT Pro. In this way, customers can set a required deadline in SCCM but allow the user more choice about when to perform installation. This is the type of "white glove" enhancement which would help drive adoption. Today customers are leveraging https://psappdeploytoolkit.com/screenshots/

  20. Add a switch parameter to the ODT to download latest ODT version

It would be great to be given the option to update setup.exe that comes with the ODT when running /download or /configure.

Either make it available as an additional switch: setup.exe /configure config.xml /updatesetup or /updateodt

Or as part of the XML.

In organizations that are forced to used software packaging as part of their Software Installation security policy, for example, having to package every Office components separately means we have to update setup.exe every time there is a feature or bug fix that comes out that is relevant to the organization.
